After the Men's Breakfast

by The Devotional Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The coffee is weak. The testimony is not. One man speaks about recovery. One admits he has not slept since the diagnosis. A third says nothing, then stays to wash every cup. No one repairs another life between eggs and closing prayer. Still, phone numbers are exchanged. A ride is arranged for Tuesday. Fellowship leaves the church basement with three practical promises.
