Sources and Method

EveryPoem is primarily an original-poetry library, not a republication archive. This page explains where the poems and their supporting information come from.

Poem text

Unless an individual contributor is clearly credited, the complete poem is an original EveryPoem editorial work. We do not attribute those works to historical poets or describe them as public-domain texts.

Classification data

Theme, mood, form, line-count, and literary-device labels are maintained in EveryPoem's editorial catalogue. They are used to organize the library and are reviewed against the poem text before a category is made public.

Educational notes

Definitions and explanatory notes are written as general literary guidance. Short quoted examples, when present, are used for explanation rather than to imply authorship of the EveryPoem collection.

Corrections

If a form, device, theme, attribution, or explanation appears incorrect, send the page URL and the exact issue through the contact page.
