Privacy Policy

Overview
This policy explains how EveryPoem (https://www.everypoem.org) handles information when you read the site, save a poem, react, comment, join an email waitlist, or submit original work.
Analytics and server logs
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page usage and basic performance. The site host may also process standard request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and timestamps for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and security. We do not sell visitor data or use the site to build advertising profiles.
Information stored on your device
Theme preference and saved-poem choices are stored in your browser's local storage. They stay on that device and are not submitted to an EveryPoem account or database. You can clear them through your browser settings.
Community features and submissions
Reactions are recorded with a one-way visitor hash used for duplicate prevention; public counts appear only after a minimum threshold. Comments store the public name and text you provide and remain private until moderated. Poetry submissions store your private email, chosen byline, poem, notes, and review status. Email-list requests store the address and consent status; no delivery begins until a double opt-in mailer is connected. Do not submit sensitive personal information. Submission does not transfer copyright.
Retention and sharing
We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was sent, legal obligations, security, or dispute handling. Service providers such as the site host and email provider may process information on our behalf. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect rights and security.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience, but submissions by anyone under the age of 18 should be made with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the reading experience.
Your choices and questions
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access, deletion, or correction of personal information. Email info@everypoem.org with a clear description of your request.
