Long-Distance Friend
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
We live three time zones apart.
Your morning reaches me at lunch.
My bad news wakes beside your bed.
Still, we keep one conversation
moving through the dark:
a photograph, a voice note,
the moon from opposite windows.
Distance measures roads.
It has never learned
how friendship travels.
