Map of a Hard Week

by The Night Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

Monday is a locked gate. Tuesday, the key that bends. Wednesday is a bridge missing one familiar board. By Thursday I stop asking the days to be geography. Friday is only Friday: a desk, a late train, rain drying on my coat. Still, the week has carried me from one side of itself to the other.
