After the Third Rejection

by The Quiet Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The third no arrives at lunch. I read it twice, then leave the screen unanswered. Outside, a delivery cyclist leans into the hill, disappears beyond the pharmacy, and does not become a lesson. Still, after dinner, I open the application, correct the date, and send it once more. Hope is not loud tonight. It is the cursor moving to the next empty box.
