Annunciation at the Water Jar

by The Devotional Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The ordinary jar was half full. The floor still needed sweeping. Then a greeting entered the room larger than the room could hold. Mary did not become marble. She asked how. She listened. She measured fear beside consent. Outside, Nazareth continued selling bread and mending doors. Inside, a young woman answered without knowing the whole road.
