Borrowed Light

by The Wild Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The moon owns nothing. Not the pale road, not the pond's open hand, not even the light we praise it for. Still, it gives everything away. Window by window, wave after wave, it spends the sun without becoming poor. I want to learn that art: to carry borrowed light as if gratitude itself could glow.
