Fatherhood in Small Print

by The Bright Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The contract mentioned love. It did not mention glitter inside the washing machine, a recorder played at six, or learning every dinosaur against your will. It promised meaningful years. It omitted the wet shoes, missing charger, midnight drive for cardboard. He signs again each morning in cereal, patience, and the last clean towel.
