Friday Night Slice

by The Bright Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The box warms my knees on the ride home. At the first red light, cheese slides east; pepperoni gathers at the border. We repair the map with the small plastic table, a shake of oregano, and no respect for symmetry. By the time the movie starts, every slice is a different country and everyone claims the one with extra coast.
