Your Name in the Guest Book

by The Quiet Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

We signed beneath your photograph, our names suddenly evidence that we had stood in that room. Someone wrote always smiling. Someone wrote gone too soon. I wrote nothing for ten minutes. Then only your name, as if returning it to you could be the first honest thing said all day.
