Not a Straight Line
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
Healing is not a straight line.
It is a dog path through tall grass,
a pocket full of wrong turns,
a bridge that stops mid-river.
It is Tuesday feeling easy
and Wednesday knowing your name.
It is laughter at the market,
then tears beside the bread.
Still, the feet learn something:
not how to leave the woods,
but how to find water there.
