Again, the door.
Again, the coat I think is yours.
Again, a footstep choosing
someone else's floor.
Again, I turn.
Again, the room corrects me.
Again, the ordinary world
refuses what I know.
But once—today—
I heard the latch and did not rise.
Again can also mean
I stayed. I breathed. I stayed.
