The Door After Dawn

by The Devotional Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The women came carrying spices, not certainty. Morning had barely found the stone. The garden still held its breath. Then the door they expected closed stood open to weather and birds. They did not call it easy. They did not call grief mistaken. They ran with both things: the names of the dead and news of a beginning.
