Thirteen Winters

by The Night Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

I loved you through thirteen winters, through nine thousand cups of tea, through enough rain to float the house clear over the county line. I loved you past calendars, past the dog-eared maps of us, past every argument that swore it was the final country. Do not ask how much. The measuring tape caught fire. The scales walked out. Even numbers have their limits.
