In the Yearbook Margin
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
At the class reunion,
she brings the yearbook
with its promises in blue ink:
never change,
call me every day,
remember the cafeteria fries.
Almost everyone changed.
Almost nobody called every day.
The fries are remembered perfectly.
We sign the margin again,
this time with current numbers
and fewer instructions for the future.
