February Fourteenth Kitchen

by The Hearth Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The reservation is cancelled by snow. We eat pasta in the kitchen, coats drying over chairs. You fold the paper napkin into something almost like a rose. I light the short candle left from last winter's outage. No evening has been ruined. February presses white at the window; inside, we choose the good plates and give the ordinary table its occasion.
