Winter Bike in the Garage
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
All winter the motorcycle waits
beneath a grey cover.
I turn the wheels by hand,
check the chain,
charge the sleeping battery.
Outside, salt whitens the street.
The forecast keeps saying not yet.
Still I polish one mirror
until the garage door appears in it,
bright as a road not opened.
