His Own Way Home
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
I spent years teaching my son
which road to take,
how to watch the weather,
where the shoulder narrows.
Now he sends directions to me.
Turn after the red barn.
The bridge looks worse than it is.
Love changes seats.
I let him drive.
The road keeps opening
in both directions.
