The Rope on the Piano

by The Hearth Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The piano will not fit the turn. Six people discover this together. One measures the doorway. One removes the legs. One protects the floor. Two lift when the count reaches three. One notices the bench still blocking the hall. No hero appears. The piano enters sideways, slower than pride wanted, and every hand reaches the kitchen still able to hold a cup.
