Two Ways We Miss Him
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
I miss the husband
who knew when my silence meant stay.
The children miss the father
who made pancakes too large for the plates.
We speak about the same man
from different rooms of love.
At dinner, one story becomes another.
I learn a joke he told only them.
They learn the song he sang only me.
Grief does not divide him.
It lets us meet more of him together.
