Call Me When You Arrive
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
Call me when you arrive,
I tell my grown son,
then pretend the sentence
is ordinary.
He crosses three states.
I cross the kitchen,
checking a silent phone
that has done nothing wrong.
At last: Made it.
Two words turn every light
in the house back on.
