Choir Robes
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
Our robes were ordered in one size:
cathedral curtain.
We climb the steps like weather,
navy sleeves predicting rain.
Somewhere underneath,
Mrs. Bell has lost a shoe.
Still, when the first chord opens,
all that fabric learns to float
and nobody asks
how it got there.
