Family and Friends Sunday

by The Devotional Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

The bulletin says family and friends, so the doors must mean it. Make room for the aunt who raised him, the neighbor who became next of kin, the visitor who came alone, the couple still learning forgiveness, the friend carrying a casserole and half the week's courage. Let no photograph of a perfect household be the price of belonging. At this table, welcome is a verb or it is only decoration.
