Granddaughter with Green Boots

by The Bright Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

She wears green boots to the wedding, red socks to the rain, and asks the violinist why every song sounds serious. Adults keep smoothing the day. She keeps finding its corners. May the world never teach her to match every color, lower every question, or walk around the puddle.
