Eight Today

by The Bright Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

Eight balloons lean on the ceiling. Eight strawberries guard the cake. Eight friends arrive too loudly. You wear a paper crown with complete authority. By evening one balloon survives, the strawberries are history, and you have learned that eight is excellent but exhausting.
