Granddaughter's First Apartment
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
The apartment is one room
and three brave windows.
She owns two plates,
a plant, a chair from the street.
I want to bring everything.
She asks for my old blue bowl.
So I carry one useful history
up four flights of stairs
and leave space
for the life she will choose.
