The Pencil Before a Test

by The Bright Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

My pencil says it feels prepared. It sharpened twice last night. My eraser says mistakes are fine. That is why it came. My ruler has no useful advice but likes to look official. When the paper lands, I write my name correctly. The whole pencil case celebrates very quietly.
