After Everyone Leaves

by The Hearth Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

After the blessing, a glove waits beneath the third pew, two programs hide under a chair, and one visitor cannot remember which exit faces the bus stop. The usher stays. Lights go dark one row at a time. The glove reaches lost property. The visitor reaches the right corner. Only then does the key turn, and service become a building resting until next week.
