The Face That Never Spoke
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
My sister sends a video
of me saying words I never said.
The mouth is mine.
The pause before the joke is mine.
Even the small lift of one eyebrow.
Only the sentence is a stranger.
I watch myself become evidence
against myself,
then call her and speak
until she knows which voice is living.
