The Word Before My Answer

by The Devotional Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

Before my careful sentence, the Word was already turning toward the wounded world. Not an idea held safely above us, but flesh that knew hunger, wood grain, friendship, grief. I call the Son eternal and still cannot measure eternity. So I begin where love became touch, where God did not remain distant, and let the unanswered part remain holy.
