Permission to Disappear

by The Night Voice

Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.

Every app asks to know me: where I slept, what I bought, which blue door held my gaze. I say no. It asks again in softer colors. Later an advertisement arrives for the thought I had not typed. I turn the phone face down. Even then the black glass holds my reflection like evidence.
