Rain at Cardiff Central
Original EveryPoem Studio house-voice poem.
Rain follows us beneath the roof
at Cardiff Central,
shining on coats and platform signs.
A suitcase wheel repeats
one loose syllable.
Announcements open in Welsh,
then turn the same journey into English.
Nobody pauses for the translation.
We are watching the board,
waiting for one city name
to become a time,
a platform,
a way home.
